Denso Tape Anti-corrosion & Waterproofing TapeWorld Leading Anti Corrosion Tape since 1922It is
non-hardening and non-cracking & is highly resistant to mineral acids, alkalis,
salts and micro-organisms. Highly impermeable to water, water vapour and
gases it us used for the protection of buried or exposed pipes, rods, cables,
valves and metal fittings from corrosion. Chemieprodukte GmbhDENSO was founded in 1922 in Berlin as Chemieprodukte GmbH and re-established in Leverkusen after the Second World War. Around 1900, the fast-growing level of traffic in Berlin meant that there was a need for more lighting on the streets. The "Berliner Pressgassystem" (Berlin compressed gas system) that had a special particularly expansive pipeline network could now also be used to remotely ignite the street lighting. When the Berlin gas network was expanded, the risk of leaks and corrosion also increased. Mr. Paul SchadeIn the summer of 1927, the chemist managed to develop a flexible, plastic and sustainable tape to protect against corrosion. The first protective tape produced was 10 cm wide and 10 m long and was rolled onto a cardboard tube. This product was then demonstrated at the municipal gasworks in Berlin where he made a real impression by showing how easy it was to use. On 14 July 1927, a patent was applied for the "permanent plastic spreadable tape". DENSO-Band tape was introduced onto the corrosion protection market and the foundation was laid for the unique success story of the world's first product providing passive corrosion protection for pipelines. Even today, DENSO tape is still successfully being used all over the world to provide permanent, sustainable and reliable protection against corrosion, albeit in a different form.
